Good to know

Marble mosaic tiles are handcrafted natural stone tiles with a unique and timeless look. Due to the natural color variations in marble, every tile is different. The tiles are carefully mixed to ensure the overall effect is as uniform as possible, but variations in colour and texture are part of the character of natural stone. Therefore, always order enough tiles to avoid color variations between different production runs. Marble is a porous natural stone. In damp areas, it is recommended to seal the tiles for extra protection against stains.

Installing Marble Mosaic

Marble tiles require extra attention during installation and have their own instruction manual. Upon purchase, you will receive a step-by-step plan with instructions and points of attention. We recommend that you read this manual carefully before installing the tiles. Or hire a good tiler who is familiar with this type of tile.

Suitable for

We recommend using marble mosaic tiles only indoors. They are suitable as floor tile but can also be used on walls, even though they are often a bit thicker than normal. They are ideal tiles for home areas such as kitchen, hallway, toilet and bathroom. Nevertheless these tiles are also excellent to be placed in a hospitality venue or store. They often give a chic look to an area! If you wish to place the tiles outside, we advise you to do so only under a canopy or roof. Weather conditions such as sun and rain have a significant impact on the appearance of marble and can cause the tiles to fade or the surface to deteriorate. Please note that the tiles may need a treatment. This is different for each area.

Maintenance

Marble Mosaic is easy to maintain. Mop weekly with an acid-free agent such as our own Tile Soap which also provides an extra protective layer on the surface. Be careful with acids, this can cause unsightly stains or discolorations that are difficult to remove later. As soon as there is spillage, immediately clean with water and do not leave on the tiles. This also applies to grease and other liquids. For e.g. grease- or paint stains, we have special cleaning agents available. In case of heavy pollution, we recommend using our Superboen. This degreaser deals with most dirt on various types of tiles.
